CampusFlare offers several modes: Date, Make Friends, Study Together and Explore. You choose one or more, and you are only shown to, and shown, students who chose the same mode. You can change your choice at any time in Settings.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of CampusFlare (the "App"). CampusFlare is owned and operated by Siyo Holdings (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2026/709519/07), a company registered in South Africa with its registered office at 16 Durham Road, Bellville South, Cape Town, 7530, Western Cape, South Africa. In these Terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Siyo Holdings (Pty) Ltd. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Community Guidelines, and our Child Safety Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised. One person, one account — you may not create more than one account, or an account on behalf of someone else.
You agree to use CampusFlare only for its intended purpose — meeting other students — and to follow our Community Guidelines and Child Safety Policy at all times. We may remove content, restrict features, suspend, or permanently close your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, our other policies, or the law, or if your presence on the App poses a risk to other users.
You retain ownership of the photos, messages, and other content you post. By posting it, you grant CampusFlare a limited licence to store, display, and process that content solely to operate and improve the App (for example, showing your profile to other users). You confirm you have the right to post everything you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
CampusFlare is free to use. We also offer an optional paid subscription, CampusFlare Premium, which unlocks additional features such as unlimited likes, Super Likes, seeing who liked you, Boosts, Rewind, and advanced filters. The specific features included may change over time.
We rely on user reports, and may also review content proactively, to enforce our policies. We may remove content, warn a user, or suspend or terminate an account at our discretion where we believe these Terms or our other policies have been broken, without always being able to share full details of an investigation (for example, to protect a reporting user's privacy or safety).
CampusFlare helps you discover and message other students, but we do not verify every claim a user makes about themselves, and we cannot guarantee the conduct, intentions, or identity of any user. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users, on and off the App. Always exercise judgement and caution, particularly before sharing personal information or meeting in person.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. This permanently removes your profile, photos, messages, matches, and related data as described in our Privacy Policy. This action cannot be undone. If you have an active Premium subscription, remember to cancel it in your app store as well — see section 5. One narrow exception: where you have made a payment, we are required to keep a record of that transaction for 5 years even after your account is gone. Our Privacy Policy sets out exactly what that record contains.
CampusFlare is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We are not liable for the conduct of any user, for any interactions or meetings arising from use of the App, or for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the App.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll let you know in the App. Continuing to use CampusFlare after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
